Science in Year One
We have been scientists today and have been testing materials to see if they are waterproof or not.
Our trip to Reading Museum
This week we have continued our work on comparing numbers. We have started to use the symbols <,> and = to create strips using towers of cubes, numicon and number cards.
Edita has compared the numbers 9 and 10.
Elena has compared the numbers 5 and 2. Fantastic work!
Forest School in Year One
In Year One we like to spend as much time as possible in our outside classroom. We do all sorts of fun things like looking for mini beasts, making sun catchers, playing instruments, pond dipping, digging and planting. We also get to have fun picnics. Have a look at some of the things that have been keeping us busy outside.
As part of our topic - Sensational Senses, we have been looking at pictures that make us say, "I cant believe my eyes!" We had a go at making some of our own.
We have also been looking at how artists provoke emotions in their work. We had a go at making some clay faces. Can you tell what emotion they are feeling?
We will be doing PE on Thursday so please make sure your child brings a PE kit to school. PE kits will be sent home at the end of every half term.
In Year One the children will start doing homework activities and their homework books will be collected in on Monday so please make sure they are in your child's book bag on this day
