We believe that learning and participating in art is vital to the development of your child as a whole.  Art encourages creativity and imagination and helps children communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes.

Through our teaching of Art at ORCS we aim to:

  • gain enjoyment, pride and a sense of achievement from their visual art work
  • collaborate with others to develop ideas and outcomes
  • select their own ideas to use in their work
  • improve their control of tools, materials and techniques
  • develop creativity and imagination through a range of stimuli and activities
  • evaluate their work and understand how to change and improve it
  • develop enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts
