Headteacher's Welcome
Oxford Road Community School offers you and your children a warm welcome. All children are special and while they are at school it is important that they feel secure, valued and happy.
Our school is a vibrant child centred place of learning, which a website can never capture. To really understand this you only need to meet our wonderful children who are a testament to the happy and caring community at the Oxford Road.
Everyone in our school is committed to being part of a supportive and caring community. Every child is treated as a unique individual. We ensure children’s specific needs are catered for – whether it is developing skills and talents, helping them persevere with areas of the curriculum or school life that is more challenging.
Positive and successful education is all about working together and we welcome parental and community involvement in every aspect of what we do. We really are a ‘community’ school.
Our school curriculum provides a rich and varied mixture of experiences that encourages all pupils to build on their skills, knowledge and understanding. We cultivate habits and attitudes that enable children to face difficulty and uncertainty calmly, confidently and creatively. We know that children who are more confident of their own learning ability learn faster and learn better. They concentrate more, think harder and find learning more enjoyable.
If you have any questions about any aspect of the school please contact me and I will be delighted to help
