School Council
Our School Council plays an important role in everyday school life. They meet once a month to discuss school issues and projects which can include improving parts of the school, fund raising, planning for competitions and writing bids to raise money. The School Council were voted for by their peers, they represent all the children in the school. They listen to their thoughts, suggestions and ideas and make sure the adults listen to them too. They use the ideas to help make our school a better place.
Amazing things our School Council have achieved so far this year are:
Decorating cakes to sell to raise money for our local community fridge - they raised nearly £150!
Organising and hosting a school disco that raised over £200 for our school fund.
Prefects
In Year 6 our children are given the opportunity to become a prefect. The children are given a number of extra school responsibilities to develop their leadership skills; these include...* Supporting Years 1-6 in the playground, when lining up and in assemblies
* Setting up the hall for events
* Running the school library
* Supporting with FS and nursery assemblies
* Monitoring class libraries and displays around school
Play Leaders
In Autumn term, our Year 5 children are given the chance to apply to become a school play leader. Play leaders support play in the playground. They help to ensure children have a safe and enjoyable play time by noticing when others might need support in their play.
If you are ever in school - ask our play leaders to show you around our playground. They are proud of the job they do!
